Fans will have a unique opportunity in the midst of Russell Falcons Training Camp to get a behind-the-scenes, all-access view of the new-look Atlanta Falcons. Allstate All-Access Weekend includes two events that are sure to bring family fun and player-fan interaction to the Atlanta community. Both are free to the public.

:: Falcons Friday Night Lights
Aug. 1, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.
Mill Creek High School (directions)

The first demonstration of its kind, Falcons Friday Night Lights will feature a live scrimmage between the Falcons offense and defense. Head Coach Mike Smith has developed a scoring system to allow the defense to tally points in a game atmosphere.

"We've done demonstration for fans at alternate venues in the past,"director of event marketing Roddy White said. "This is going to be a live scrimmage. It's offense against defense."

White said the team has added other special features to allow fans to "feel and hear the scrimmage" including:

  • Field microphones to record the action
  • Microphones inside offensive and defensive players' helmets
  • Coach microphones

The scrimmage will begin around 7:15 p.m., followed by a 15-minute autograph session and a fireworks display from the baseball fields at Mill Creek High School.

:: Roam the Dome
Aug. 2, 2008 at noon
The Georgia Dome (more information)

Similar to Allstate Midtown Touchdown, Roam the Dome will feature on-field drills. But this time, fans will see the team in a newly-renovated Georgia Dome. At Roam the Dome, fans will experience a simulated game including a performance of the National Anthem, a coin toss and player introductions.

"At the conclusion of the simulated game we will have an autograph session featuring the entire roster," White said.

Fans can also take tours of the Dome including stops at the visitors' locker room, coaches' booths and press box.

After the simulated game, fans can participate in skills games on the field with players.

NOTE: Stay tuned to AtlantaFalcons.com prior to Allstate All-Access weekend for more details on autograph sessions and parking at the Georgia Dome. Both events are free and open to the public.

FALCONS HOST FIRST "ALLSTATE ALL-ACCESS WEEKEND" FESTIVAL AUG. 1, 2

Free two-day fan fest features scrimmages, autographs, entertainment

Flowery Branch, GA (July 11, 2008) - Drought conditions may have kept the Falcons' popular Midtown Touchdown event from landing in Atlanta's Piedmont Park this year, but the festivities are moving forward - in new locations and with a new name.

The Falcons today announced their first "Allstate All-Access Weekend," a free two-day fan fest that will feature many of the same elements that made Midtown Touchdown a fan favorite and drew crowds of nearly 20,000 in each of its first two years.

In the high school football tradition, the weekend kicks off at 7 p.m. on August 1 with "Falcons Friday Night Lights," where the team's offense and defense will square off in a live scrimmage under the lights at Mill Creek High School. The evening will include activities for kids, autographs from Falcons players and a fireworks display to cap off the festivities.

The celebration moves to the Georgia Dome on day two with "Falcons Roam the Dome" beginning at noon. Fans will get a behind-the-scenes tour of the team's newly renovated game day home, with upgrades including a fresh coat of Falcons-themed exterior paint, enhanced seating in the lower and upper levels and revamped concourse areas. The Falcons entire roster will also suit up for a simulated game on home turf and sign autographs afterward. Fans can also get in on the action by participating in skills sessions on the field following the game.

While roaming the Dome, fans will also have opportunities to select 2008 Falcons season tickets and purchase on the spot. Available seats tagged, allowing fans to test drive seats before making a purchase.

During what promises to be the ultimate Falcons fan experience, Allstate All-Access Weekend creates opportunities for fans to see how the team is taking shape under new leadership, and get a jump on the 2008 season.

"We're always trying to find new ways to get fans more personally involved in the Falcons experience, and the Allstate All-Access Weekend is a great way to do that," said Atlanta Falcons President Rich McKay. "It's a chance to get to know the team a little better, see them in action, and have fun with friends and family as we get ready for the 2008 season."

Allstate All-Access Weekend is also presented by Verizon Wireless, Russell Athletic, Saint Joseph's Hospital and Miller Lite. Stay up to date with Allstate All-Access Weekend by logging on to www.atlantafalcons.com/allaccess.
